Calgary Camera Club's website was a project the owner took on while she was a board member at the camera club. I Luv Web, decided to use Joomla for the content management system since it offered a number of powerful options that was a robust system and would work for a number of users logging in to a members area and accessing a range of features.
The club site included a member login, a calendar of events, a membership form connected to Paypal, a photo gallery, an application to allow members to vote on photo competitions, news items and a section where the club could advertise various companies that paid for adverts on the site. The owner completed a range of training sessions with the board members so they could continue to update the site on their own without being reliant on one person to update the site.
The site used the colors red, white and black in order to match with the Calgary Camera Club logo.
Joomla just like Wordpress offers a wide range of themes. Although most of the Camera Club users where PC and Mac desktop users the theme still offered the option to respond to the various screen sizes which is important feature for any website now.
